Dec 1, 2016Posted by nameless

For most people cervical spondylosis causes no symptoms. When symptoms do occur, they typically include pain and stiffness in the neck.

Often the disease is manifested by the following symptoms:

Pain and stiffness in the neck;

Limited movements of the neck;

Pain and stiffness of the shoulders;

Headache;

Vertigo.

With the progression of the disease as a result of changes that occur in spondylosis, can come to a narrowing of the spinal canal – spinal stenosis. Spinal stenosis may be a cause of radiculopathy or myelopathy.

Cervical radiculopathy occurs if there is an injury or irritation of the cervical nerves. Moreover spinal stenosis, it may also be a pressure of intervertebral disk herniation and degenerative changes of the intervertebral disc. Symptoms of cervical radiculopathy pain, weakness, tingling and numbness in one part of the body that is innervated by the injured nerve (neck, shoulders, arms, chest or upper back).

Cervical myelopathy. As a result of spinal stenosis, may cause compression of the spinal cord in the cervical and thus prevents the normal transmission of nerve impulses. In that event, the following symptoms occur: difficulty in gait and maintaining balance, numbness and weakness of the hands and feet, difficulty performing fine movements (eg. Problems in writing), impaired control of the process of urination and / or defecation, etc.
